Speaker’s story:

Something interesting happened the day before I was to give my first speech last year and I will NEVER forget it: After practicing my testimony, which was loaded with information about my consequences from past sexual choices, I went into a state of utter panic —crying, talking out loud to God, pacing, telling God that I didn’t think I could do this. I just couldn’t spread all of my “dirt” to the whole world! Then, clear as could be, I heard God’s voice talk to me in my spirit, calming and reassuring me. “Yes, you can, and I’m going to take your dirt and I’m going to plant a garden.” After that I settled down. We may never know ‘til heaven how many lives we are able to touch or change. One thing is for sure: God’s given me a different perspective on Jesus’ story of the “sower of the seeds.”

Student’s stories:

Montini Catholic High School

“We talked about all the effects of sex. I never really thought about all the bad outcomes. It was a crazy reality check!”

“It helped to know what other peers were thinking and what kind of logic is used to determine why we should or shouldn’t.”

Lisle High School

“I think that it really gave me something to think about. It made a lot of the good things about waiting to have sex until marriage very apparent.”

“It helped me realized that there are better things and goals in life besides sex and what could happen during sex.”

“[The testimonial] was moving and it shows that people who have sex aren’t bad people, they just may need love.”

Sandburg Middle School

“She really touched me when she told me her story and she said that abstinence is good….I pick being abstinent until I am married!”

“She helped me to plan my goals out, to ask myself if I really love a guy, and to stay abstinent before marriage.”

Westmont High School

“It helped me because it really showed me that this stuff can really play a big role in your life and that some of the decisions you make in your jr. high and high school can affect the rest of your life.”

Teacher’s stories:

St. Isaac’s Catholic School

“The program engaged the students and spoke to them at a level they could grasp.”

Glen Oaks Therapeutic Day school

The speakers were by far the best we’ve ever had!”

West Chicago Middle School

“I find that I learn something new every time they come in and it only strengthens the message of abstinence.”

"For you created my inmost being, you built me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."

- Psalm 139:13-16
